From a performance of The Pines of Rome, Pines of the Appian Way.
The moves they don’t teach you in conducting school.
I’d like to point out that in this scene Peggy is having CRIPPLING emotional issues with an aspect of her body. Bobby is not only comfortable enough with his body to not give a fuck, he’s aware enough to use that to bring his mom up from what might be the lowest he’s ever seen her.
LOVE IT
I’m getting overly tired of finding girls that are amazing, that I get along with great just to be held at arms length as a friend. When on earth am I going to find THE girl the one who I click with that is ready to love as much as I am. TWICE this semester I have come across girls that I think are fantastic just to find out that A. actually full of it and then B. Just wanting friendships. B much easier to deal with than A. It’s like traps are being set for me and I keep recklessly falling in them. This is a short scene of how I see it.
LIFE: Here’s a girl that matches lots of things on your perfect girl check list.
ME: HELL YEAH! Thanks life, you sure do know me, wow this is great.
LIFE: Oh by the way, here’s some shit that totally ruins what you were thinking was goin on.
ME: Damnit life you piece of shit why would you even do that to me? That’s like inviting me to Disney world and then going ‘Just Kidding!’ Not cool man.
LIFE: You’re right man, I apologize. Here ya go. Here’s a girl that’s even better dude she’s the one for you, you’ll see.
ME: Dude life thanks man, hey this is looking pretty good.
LIFE: Oh, by the way-
ME: DAMNIT LIFE WHAT THE HELL MAN!!!
LIFE: HAHAHA Got you again you stupid piece of shit!!
ME: Life what are you doing? Life STAHP!!!!!!
Of course this all comes on the heels of a good friend of mine getting engaged which is FANTASTIC but keeps raising the total of my friends the same age as me that have found the one. And I feel stuck.
So, to conclude this rant/bitch session/whiney moment I offer a poem to the perfect girl for me.
The Girl:
I look high and low for you
I look near and far for the beacon of your love
I sense your call but often mistake it for the call of others
One day we will find each other and will embrace in a way that can only be described in the heavens.
Our love will be written across the stars.
Well there’s my bitching for today. That felt damn good.
